The 2026 Men’s ILCA 7 World Championship opened in Dún Laoghaire, Ireland with three races on Dublin Bay for the 140 competitors.
It is rather fitting that the leader after three races is Ireland’s own Finn Lynch, winning his first heat race and following with a second and fourth, the discard putting him top of the leaderboard, tied on three points with Italy’s Attilio Borio (2, 1, -12).
In third is Ole Schweckendiek (-6, 3, 1) of Germany tied on four points with Nicholas Halliday (1, -4, 3) of Hong Kong.
Best of the British competitors is Elliot Hanson (6, -14, 1) in 8th tied on seven points with Aussie Matt Wearn (5, -6, 2).
Other leading GBR are 15th Michael Beckett (7, -8, 4) with 11 pts, Finley Dickinson 38th, Alastair Brown 50th, Arthur Farley 52nd, Sam Whaley 54th and James Foster 58th.
