2026 ILCA 6 Women’s World Championship – Emma Plasschaert regains lead after first gold fleet race

Only one race completed on the opening day of Gold Fleet racing at the ILCA 6 Women’s World Championship on Dublin Bay.

That one race saw a change of leader, with Emma Plasschaert of Belgium taking second behind Roos Wind of the Netherlands, while Charlotte Rose of the USA finished in eighth.

This put Plasschaert first overall with 9 pts, Rose second with 13 pts, and Australia’s Maria Stransky posting a 22 to take third on 34 pts.

Britain’s Matilda Nicholls posted a third place finish to rocket up the leaderboard into 4th with 35 pts.

Hannah Snellgrove slipped to 9th after a 22, and Daisy Collingridge is 15th after a 29.

Ireland’s Eve McMahon is 11th just one point off a top ten place. Annalise Murphy drops to 32nd.
