A light weather opening on Lake Geneva for the first day of the Rolex Switzerland Sail Grand Prix.
This was another almost total non-foiling day and was cut-short as the wind gradually died through the day. Group A only managed to complete two of their three scheduled races, Group B completed all three of their races.
Their were five different race winners:
Group A
Race 1 – SWE Artemis, Nathan Outteridge
Race 2 – DEN, Rockwool Racing, Nicolai Sehested
Group B
Race 1 – CAN, Northstar, Giles Scott
Race 2 – SUI, Explora Swiss, Sebastien Schneiter
Race 3 – AUS, Bonds Flying Roos, Tom Slingsby
As the results stand Rockwool Racing and Artemis lead Group A tied on 6 pts, ahead of DS Automobiles FRA and Los Gallos tied on 5 pts.
Bonds Flying Roos lead Group B with 10 pts ahead of the Black Foils on 9 pts, followed by Emirates GBR and Explora Swiss tied on 8 pts.
Racing will continue Sunday with two races each for Group A and B, then the top two from each group will sail a final winner-takes-all four boat race.
Racing in Geneva gets underway at 14:30 UK time – on Sunday.
