Two race wins from Saturday’s three races put Team Aqua of event host Chris Bake within one point of Pietro Loro Piana’s Aleph Racing.
Chris Bake relished Saturday’s magnificent conditions of ‘Costa del Solent’ and was pleased with Team Aqua’s performance. Taking the first win ahead of Artemis Racing and the second from Peninsula Racing, to briefly take the overall lead.
In the third race Team Aqua found themselves buried on the start line and subsequently lost a jib sheet, finishing sixth.
That third race was won by GeMera Racing ahead of Aleph Racing who regained their overall lead, with Team Aqua second and GeMera Racing in third going into the final day.
Sunday’s racing is being brought forward by one hour to 11:00 in the hope of coinciding with the optimum conditions for the 44Cup World Championship Cowes’ grand finale.
