International Moth Worlds – Enzo Balanger set to defend Title down under

The 2026 Acton Belle Property Moth Worlds Opening Ceremony and Nationals Presentations were held at Mounts Bay Sailing Club Thursday and the 2026 Moth World Championships will commence Friday.

Leading contender will be Enzo Balanger, defending Moth World Champion and 2026 European Champion: the K-Challenge sailor is expected to be the pace setter, in his defence of the title he won on Lake Garda in Italy, becoming the first French sailor to be crowned International Moth World Champion.

British focus will be on Henry Wetherell, who was second in the Australian Nationals. Wetherell defended his UK International Moth title  at WPNSA in 2026 and was World OK Champion in 2023.

Hattie Rogers, taking a break from GB1 America’s Cup and SailGP duties, will be looking to claim the Women’s Foiler title, possibly combined with an overall podium place.

The 77 competitors will open the racing on Friday with a Qualifying series of eight race, followed by a Final series of 12 races from Monday 9 Nov, ending with the Super Sprint series on Thursday 12 Nov.

The event also features the Low Rider Global  Championship with 42 competitors.
