RS Sailing has secured a significant long-term investment from two marine-industry heavyweights, providing funds for the next stage of their global expansion, with the same team, boats and UK production retained.
Swedish marine investor Fredriksborgs Förvaltnings AB and the owners of Rototek Ltd have joined forces to back the UK sailboat manufacturer, Fredriksborgs is an investment company with a portfolio of established marine businesses. The owners of Rototek Ltd are also well-known to the industry, having manufactured RS hulls for more than 25 years.
The backing follows RS’s move to formalize the RS Marine Group in January 2026, bringing together RS Sailing, RS Electric Boats, Cheetah Marine and Ocean Play under shared business functions. The funding round Investment Terms were not disclosed.
Alex Newton-Southon, RS Sailing Managing Director, acknowledged that it had been a challenging period, and thanked their suppliers for their support and understanding.
“This is strong, long-term backing from people who understand our industry and our heritage. Rototek have built our boats for a quarter of a century and Fredriksborgs brings deep marine experience and a genuine love of sailing.”
