Swiss America’s Cup team AC75 arrives at Bagnoli base

The Swiss America’s Cup team AC75 has arrived at its recently completed base in Bagnoli, Italy, where it joins La Roche-Posay Racing Team and GB1, the Challenger of Record.

A rainstorm. A darkened waterfront. And the quiet arrival of another serious contender. Once safely inside, the protective wrapping came off, revealing BoatOne’s new black livery. For now, the rest remains under wraps.

Tudor Team Alinghi’s refurbished AC75, the boat they call BoatOne, has been redesigned to the new Technical Regulations for the 38th America’s Cup. Having successfully completed structural testing earlier this year, BoatOne will now be fitted out and start initial system testing before launching.

At Bagnoli, the transformation of the area into the operational heart of the competition is gathering momentum, with La Roche-Posay Racing Team already operational and GB1 not far behind.

The Swiss Team is targeting its first sail in December, with the initial sessions focused on testing the yacht and refining onboard procedures as they prepare for the Louis Vuitton Cup that starts on 22 May 2027.

First race date for the AC teams is the qualification event, the Louis Vuitton Cup Challenger Selection Series, which begins 22 May 2027. The actual 38th America’s Cup Match begins over the weekend of the 10-11 July 2027.

38th America’s Cup entrants:

  • Emirates Team New Zealand (NZL) – Defender
  • Challengers
  • GB1 (GBR) – Challenger of Record
  • Luna Rossa (ITA)
  • Tudor Team Alinghi (SUI)
