Fireball Worlds at Torbay – Edwards and Townend are 2026 Champions

2026 Fireball World Champions are DJ Edwards and Vyv Townend, finishing 18.5 pts clear of Simon Kings and Jono Loe.

Kings and Loe’s boat was holed on the penultimate day and they received redress. But a 68 in the first race (discarded) of the final day spoiled their championship hopes, despite recovering with a second place in the final race.

Dave Wade and Iain Blake were third, with Georgia Booth and Oliver Davenport fourth.

Aussie pair Heather Macfarlane and Chris Payne took fifth after storming the leaderboard with a double first on the final day.

Early event leaders Peter Gray and Richard Pepperdine finished sixth.

The championship was hosted by the Royal Torbay Yacht Club.
