The Governor’s Cup International Youth Match Racing Championship is always competitive. However, this year there will be a number of matches that will be intriguing to watch and especially important to the competitors involved.

Another sunny, warm morning greeted the fleet for Day 5 of the 2026 Helly Hansen Merlin Rocket Week, although the breeze was doing its best to stay on holiday.

As predicted, Day 3 brought a very different Eckernförde. The big breeze of the opening days gave way to much lighter, shifty conditions that turned the racing technical and demanding — a day for patience, lane management and reading the water.
