Bright sunshine and a slowly dying westerly breeze accompanied the 49 yachts that gybed their way down Sydney Harbour for the start of the Noakes Sydney Gold Coast Race.

Emirates GBR Driver Dylan Fletcher MBE said he was “disappointed” with the performance of his team at the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix in Portsmouth, as the Brits ended the event in 11th place.

The Explora Journeys Swiss SailGP Team continued its strong run of form in the SailGP Championship, securing a second consecutive Final appearance and a race victory at the Emirates Great Britain Sail Grand Prix in Portsmouth.

Gareth Ede may have won all six races to retain his National Championship title, but it was far from a walk in the park as he had to fight off challenges from John Terry and Paul Ellis.

Organizers moved the start up earlier than the rest of the week, with the first warning signal going up at 10:30 for the 49er gold fleet, the 49erFX and the 49erFX Open, all three sailing three races to close out the regatta.

After two challenging races in strong wind, the top 10 teams have secured their places in tomorrow’s Medal Series at the 420 & 470 Junior European Championships.

A glorious Tour of the Bay was had by all! Wind conditions were perfect, the sun was out and the water was (mostly) flat.
