Six sailing boats that spent more than 25 years in storage at a British Army base have been successfully shipped to St. Vincent and the Grenadines and delivered to the Grenadine islands of Canouan, Mayreau and Union Island.

The 2026 J/70 Europeans concluded Saturday after 5 intense days of racing, during which all 10 scheduled races were completed. A total of 82 boats from 24 countries competed in one of the largest and most competitive editions of the Championship to date.

From 7-15 August 2026, Klaipeda, Lithuania, will host the ORC European Championship for the first time, welcoming one of the strongest offshore racing fleets in Europe.

We were expecting a low turnout for this event due to the forecast of barely a hint of wind however 25 boats turned up in the hope the weather people got it wrong, sadly they didn’t.

After yesterday’s washout, today more than made up for it. Conditions in Medemblik were close to perfect, champagne sailing as some of the sailors called it, even if the breeze stayed shifty and gusty through the day.

St. Croix will welcome sailors from around the world this November as the island hosts the 55th Annual International Sunfish Class Association (ISCA) Youth, Women’s, Masters & Open World Championships.
