Tuesday’s (21st July) race, the second of the five race series, was very much like Monday’s race for most with the same gentle benign northerly wind with a south going tide, and the same winners in each class.

Race crews, family and friends are welcome at the RORC Cowes Clubhouse on Friday 24 July with the RORC Channel Race pre-race supper forming part of the Club’s Cowes Offshore Series social programme. Booking is strongly recommended.

After storms and heavy winds kept the fleet ashore for Tuesday’s scheduled opening races, the 2026 J/80 World Championship got under way Wednesday on the waters of Lake Ontario, where 34 teams were greeted by gusty conditions averaging about 20 knots.

The J/70 European Championship saw a change at the top of the leaderboard on Wednesday as HSN Sailing Team delivered an outstanding performance to take the overall lead after four races. Barcelona again provided excellent sailing conditions.

Racing finally got going in Medemblik today, and the wind did not disappoint. All four fleets completed a full three races apiece right on schedule, with no delays despite a breeze that pushed toward the top end of the forecast.
