Waldringfield Sailing Club, on Suffolk’s River Deben, throws open its Cadet Week for another year this Friday, with four days of racing, socialising and messing about on the water for the junior double-handed class.

After four days of easterlies, it was a return to classic Poole Week conditions on the Thursday of Poole Week 2026: warm sun and a brisk south-westerly blowing across the harbour.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms went through overnight, clearing away ready for 2 sunny races out in Weymouth Bay. The breeze filled in from the South West.

Saturday the 29th August sees the start of this year’s 4-day Exe Sails Hornet Class National Championships at Shoreham-on Sea.

Four more races were completed Thursday at the J/111 North American Championship, hosted by Youngstown Yacht Club, bringing the Championship total to seven races after two days of competition.
