Tornado Worlds – Markus and Nicolas Betz are 2026 World Champions

The fifth and final day of the 2026 Tornado World Championship in Quiberon was brought to an early close as strong winds exceeding 30 knots swept across the race area, making racing unsafe.

With no further racing possible, Markus and Nicolas Betz (GER 2) were confirmed as the 2026 Tornado World Champions. The German team moved into the overall lead on Day 4 after a superb series of races and held a narrow 3.2 point advantage to secure the title.

The Czech mixed crew Zdenek Pavlis and Klara Pavlisova (CZE 62) finished as runners-up, only 3.2 points behind the winners, and also claimed the Mixed Tornado World Championship.

Australia’s Allan Gamble and Stephen Gamble completed the overall podium in third place, while Michaela Pavlisova and Marek Pavlis (CZE 72) finished fourth overall.

Second in the Mixed category were Michaela Pavlisova and Marek Pavlis (CZE 72), while Jan Coppens and Marie Coppens (BEL 7) completed the Mixed podium after another consistent championship.

Best placed GBR competitor, 18th Robert Govier and David Figgis.
