2026 P & B Solo National Championship – Victory for Oliver Davenport by a whisker

The 2026 National Solo Championship, hosted by the Royal Torbay Yacht Club, attracted an entry of 80 with a full range of age groups, from youth through to Veteran.

The Solo class, designed by Jack Holt in 1956 continues its steady growth rate, with sail numbers now over 6100 and competition as keen as ever.

So close was the competition that the Championship was decided after a final day shoot-out that resulted in the podium places being confirmed in the final race.

Oliver Davenport won the final race ahead of Charlie Cumbley, to finish with a one point overall victory. Cumbley took second place with a one point advantage over third placed Alex Butler. The podium trio having a 24 point lead from the chasing pack.
