Aspire Merlin Rocket National Championships 2026 – Day 2 fails to impress

Day 2 of the 2026 Aspire Merlin Rocket National Championships at WPNSA got an early call.

Preceded with rumours by the PRO Peter Saxton at the end of Day One of high winds forecast for Day Two, and following an early call on Day Two, the fleet was shore-bound as AP over A was hoisted before 09:30.

The fleet is keen and eager to start early on Day Three for three glam races in champagne sailing conditions, which Peter Saxton has promised!

There are 4 days to go, seven races left.

So no change to the leaderboard . . .

Thomas Gillard and Rachael Gray won the first two races Sunday to take a four point lead.

Second are Andy Davis and Becky Caiger (2, 4) with 6 pts, and third Ben Whaley and Chris Martin (6, 3) with 9 pts. After that it’s looking very tight for the top ten until we get some more racing done.
