SailGP has opened the Ticket application pages on their website for the 2026 Sail Grand Prix events in the UAE in November.
The two Middle East events, including the 2026 Season Grand Final, have been in doubt due to the continuing USA/Iran war in the area, its effect on surrounding countries and possible problems in transporting boats and team equipment to the venues, and the safety of the competitors and spectators during the events.
SailGP is back in Dubai on 21-22 November for the penultimate event of the 2026 season – the Emirates Dubai Sail Grand Prix, presented by DP World.
Following that is the Championship-deciding Mubadala Abu Dhabi Sail Grand Prix 2026 Season Grand Final, presented by Abu Dhabi Sports Council, taking place on 28-29 November.
The 13 teams on the circuit this year are competing for USD$12.8 million prize money – the biggest prize purse ever seen in sailing. The winner of each of the 13 Grand Prixs takes home $400,000, with $240,000 for second and $160,000 for third.
The team with the most points at the end of the season wins $400,000, while the team crowned Rolex SailGP Champion at the end of the season wins a massive USD $2 million.
There are two events still to take place in Europe. Valencia for the Spain Sail Grand Prix, the tenth stop of the 2026 Rolex SailGP Championship over this weekend, the 4 – 5 September, and Geneva for the Rolex Switzerland Sail Grand Prix, on 19 – 20 September 2026.
The 13 team boats and event infrastructure will then be shipped to the UAE for the Dubai and Abu Dhabi Sail Grand Prix events featuring the Grand Final with a USD $2 million prize for the winner.
