Craig is 2026 OK Dinghy European Champion

Nick Craig is 2026 OK Dinghy European Champion, after a tight two-race final day at Bruinisse, The Netherlands.

Nick Craig GBR and Pim van Vugt NED started the final day tied on 10 points at the top of the leaderboard. The penultimate race was a win for Craig ahead of Belgium’s Marie-Amandine Vandeghinste with Van Vugt in third and Andy Davis fourth.

This put Craig leader on 11 pts and Van Vugt second with 10 pts, and the title to whomever won the expected match race between them in the final race.

While Craig and Van Vugt battled for supremacy in the overall title, Davis took the final race win ahead of Mark Jackson of Australia with Sweden’s Thomas Hansson-Mild claiming third.

In the Craig/Van Vugt battle, Craig put a tight cover on Van Vugt from the start, and eventually with the title out of reach Van Vugt retired and Craig finished in 22nd, which he was able to discard, giving him a 15 point total to claim the European Title.

Second overall was Van Vugt with 18 pts and third Hansson-Mild on 27 pts.

Andy Davis who had started the competition as leader with a 1 and 3 finished the event with a 4 and 1, to take 4th overall. Canadian Baabii’O Flower was 5th and Ulli Kurfield of Germany 6th.
