After nearly two weeks, several hundred kilometers by road and a crossing of the Mediterranean, the AC75 of La Roche-Posay Racing Team has arrived in Naples from Lorient.
Having departed from Brittany on 10 September, the French boat arrived in Bagnoli on Thursday 24 September, at the end of a logistical operation that was as discreet as it was spectacular.
La Roche-Posay Racing Team was the first competing team to have transported its AC75 to Naples.
Moving an AC75 and its two masts is not straight forward. The entire operation was entrusted to Augizeau, a specialist in oversized transport, which had already handled the AC75’s transfer to Barcelona and its return to France during the previous campaign.
After five days on the road the boat and its two masts reached Sète on 15 September. There it was loaded onto a barge and left the port of Sète bound for Naples to arrive on the 24 September in Bagnoli, the heart of the 38th America’s Cup preparations.
This arrival also marks a very real turning point for the French Challenger. After the months spent in Lorient, the center of gravity of the campaign has now shifted to Italy. It is in Naples that the AC75 team will resume its preparations, with a return to the water scheduled for October.
The Cup defender Emirates Team New Zealand are expected to relocate their AC75 to Naples in late January 2027.
