Germany’s Platoon Aviation secures 2026 52 SUPER SERIES Championship in Valencia

Germany’s Platoon Aviation, led by Harm Müller-Spreer, secured the 2026 52 SUPER SERIES championship after the fifth and final regatta of the season, the 52 SUPER SERIES Valencia Sailing Week, concluded in Spain.

Platoon Aviation arrived in Valencia holding an 11-point advantage over Sled. Despite a record fleet of 16 boats and demanding light, shifting winds, Müller-Spreer’s crew extended that lead to claim their second 52 SUPER SERIES season title, following their narrow victory in 2023.

For Platoon Aviation, the championship was the culmination of a campaign that included podium finishes in four of the five regattas. After setbacks in the strong winds at Marina Rubicón, the team recovered to win the Royal Cup in Puerto Calero before completing the season with another podium in Valencia.

Italy’s Alkedo Cetilar, owned by Andrea Lacorte, won the Valencia Sailing Week regatta.

A second-place finish in the final race secured the event victory with 36 points, seven clear of the Netherlands’ No Way Back, with Platoon Aviation third.

No Way Back, led by Dutch owner Pieter Heerema, took second place in Valencia and fourth in the overall championship. Müller-Spreer finished as the season’s leading owner-driver, ahead of Lacorte and Heerema.
