After the disappointing results from the second 38th America’s Cup Preliminary Regatta in Naples, the latest GB1 Challenger video attempts to explain their performance.
Undoubtedly the British AC38 Challengers are keen to move on, and the sooner they can get their revamped AC75 in the water the better, and hopefully put this and the teams other shore side problems behind them. There is a lot riding on the new GB1, perhaps more than it can deliver.
Ben Ainslie makes no excuses commenting . . . It’s been a challenging week. It’s not been the results that the team were looking for both for GB1 and GB2. We’ve always struggled with the AC40 . . . For whatever reason.
It’d be nice to get the monkey off our back and just get back into the 75 and get focused on that, which of course is really critical next year for GB1. GB2 though, you know they are they are on the AC40 journey. We’ve got a lot of work to do between now and the cup with the new site in Bagnoli.
Finishing on an upbeat note. . . We’ve got a great squad and we’ve got great coaches, I’m confident we’ll get on top of that for racing next year.
